Keep all the cleaning products in the bathroom, if you have more than one bathroom, put the cleaners in each room. Use water and a clean washcloth to clean the mirrors, use another clean washcloth to dry it. No window cleaner is necessary. Use a degreaser to clean the tub, toilet and sink. Use the garbage can as a bucket to clean the floor. Fill it with warm water and Lysol or other germ-killing product to clean the floor and toilet. Make a quick but thorough run-through. Mirrors first, then sink, tub, toilet, floor. Finish by dumping the Lysol-water down the toilet, wipe the inside and outside of the garbage pail and have a clean smelling, disinfected bathroom. Almost done. Of course wash your hands and put the two wash cloths in the dirty clothes basket (hang to dry on the edge until dry.)

Linda, this is definitely one of my least favorite chores and streamlining it makes perfect sense. Love using the garbage can to clean the floor, kills two birds with one stone, so to speak.

I know! Everytime I clean the bathroom I think to myself, I need to tell everyone about this! It’s not my idea, I took a home organization class when my children were young. The knowledge has carried me through 8 children and 15 years of MS! Organization really helps!

Way to go, Linda. Take a pretty unpleasant task and make it a “quickie”. I really like the idea of using the wastebasket as your cleaning bucket. Am anxious to see if I can really do the task in 15 minutes!

Well, it really depends on the size of your bathroom! Mine is rather small! I was thinking as I wrote this post that if it were the size of my moms, it would take longer!! Then again, if I could move like I did 15 yrs ago…. either way…. with organization its quicker!!

Keith,
Yes this is a quick way to clean the bathroom, of course there needs to be a deep cleaning about every 6 months, but with the about grown and gone, it looks like it’s going to be a ‘spring’ cleaning opportunity!
