I think your best point is that bloggers who aren’t experts due to the fact they don’t blog about something they already know or have experience doing. I agree with you that starting a blog based on firsthand experience is a faster way to establish expert status.

That said, the last thing some people may wish to blog about is their experience, especially work experience/industry. I do agree with you that establishing expert status is an important objective in order to leverage the branding that comes with expert status. Once you have a brand and are trusted, your time blogging will return a much higher ROI.

Interesting take on this. I always thought the best blogs are like stories that weave personal experiences into the mix. I like to get to know the blog creator on a personal basis.

Hello Linda,

Terrific article, I didn’t realize that there would be some kind of experts into the blogging. I always thought it was always something that someone wanted to write about. Kind of like a diary in a sense of whatever their though were on a subject. Thank you very much for sharing your insight, it was very knowledgeable.

Hi Linda very Interesting , i had never thought of a distinction between reporters and experts when it comes to blogging .It actualy doesnt require a lot of effort to become an expert in a subject (that is knowing more than the majority ) it just requires focus and an ability to communicate in a cear and appropriate voice.the reality is the bloggosphere needs both to be abe to provide baance .
