I have always wondered how people get their photos on the WordPress sites I visit. Thanks for sharing this..will definitely make my own gravatar after this. In a highly visual world we live in, getting your face out there is a must.

Avatars can be creative forms of self-expression. The focus on the avatar enhances the profile of the person. With the gravatar, more people can enjoy seeing the focus on themselves.

Great picture!!! I learned the same way!! Jenn Lawlor, the first woman I found online, created a post similar to the one I did, with her post, she taught me how to get a Gravatar! Now over a year later, I’m still learning and having a blast!

Amanda~ Absolutely! You connect any image to your email address with a Gravatar. The benefit of putting your picture is for personal branding. If you’re marketing online, when people can see your face they will learn to know, like and trust you and it will be easier to make the sale!

Actually the image is connected to your email address, so where ever you can leave the email address where your Gravatar is connected, your picture will be shown. So just get an account with Gravatar.com, choose an image that you’ve saved on your computer and it will be connected to your email address. Come back here and leave another comment so I can see your Globally Recognized Avatar!

So what happens when I register for a gravatar account and upload a picture there is that when I fill in the Mail text field in the comment, it will automatically fetch my Gravatar as long as the email address provided here is the same as the one I provided in my Gravatar account?
